Australian Shepherds
Information about Aussies
and buying our puppies
Member of AKC and ASCA
When we got our first Aussie several years ago someone told me "Aussies are like potato chips-
you can't have just one". So I can't say I wasn't warned. Each one is an individual, but they tend
to be extremely smart, easy to train, loyal to a fault sometimes, and insist upon being a member of
the family, not just a pet. They are not a dog to pet on the head as you walk past at the end of the
day. Mine are my shadow almost every step I take.
AUSSIES: Aussies come in 4 standard colors-black,red,blue merle and red merle, that are
recognized by AKC and ASCA in the breed standard, although there are many variations from
that basis. All can have white and/or copper trim. Visit this website for more info about
coloring, eyes etc. it shows the many 'flavors' that Aussies come in.

Vic's sire is on the eye color page and the Standard colors,Black page. He is Howard's
Wanagi-Ishna Ghosteyes "Indy", and his lines seem to consistently throw blue-eyed solids even
down 4 or 5 generations from him. They can have natural bob-tails or long tails that are usually
docked. I've had 1 un-docked Aussie, and can really see the benefit of it. If there is a patch of
cockleburr or begger lice -they'll find it,wallow in it and be tickled pink to bring them back to you.
Aussies can have many colors of eyes, including brown, blue, amber and green. They can be
solid, flecked, marbled or split. Blue or flecked eyes are usually tied to merle coloring, and rarely
show up in solid dogs. This is the focus of my breeding program- solid color dogs with blue eyes in
dogs that would be prime examples of everything good in an Aussie. I love my dogs, genetics and
blue eyes, so this goal is a natural one for me. Time will tell if I reach that goal or to what extent.
I am aspiring to be an up and coming responsible breeder, but I'm just learning the ropes,so bear
with me.I have merles as I think they are beautiful also and what comes to mind for most people
when they think Aussie. But since I can't have very many dogs and be able to give them the love
and care they deserve , I plan on being very selective as I slowly build up my breeding program.
Above all, my goal is to raise quality, healthy dogs to live happy, purposeful lives, whether the
purpose is show, working, performance or pet supreme.
BUYING INFO: So,if you think one of my puppies or dogs might be right for you, first research
the breed and honestly decide if an Aussie is even right for you. Don't however believe that
everything you read about the breed is true for every dog in that breed. They are as individual as
we are. Then contact me and let me know something about yourself and what you are wanting a
dog for. Please see the questionnaire at the bottom of the page, copy and paste these questions into
your e-mail.I will try my best to match each puppy or dog to the very best owner for it. I DO
RESERVE THE RIGHT NOT TO SELL TO ANY PERSON. I am not a puppy mill and will NOT
sell to one. If you are interested, e-mail me. If I have more than 1 suitable owner possibility for
any puppy, I will go by the earliest date I was contacted. If I have put a price on a puppy and we
reach an agreement, then I will need a $200 non-refundable deposit to hold a puppy or dog. We
want you to be committed to your new addition. We feel that if you are willing to place a deposit
down on a puppy, you have researched and planned for your new arrival and the long-term
committment involved in your purchase.
SHIPPING: I prefer not to ship dogs unless absolutely necessary. I am willing to hold a puppy (
that has been paid for) until you can drive to me,so we can meet face-to-face. We live toward the
western part of South Central KY about 80 miles NW of Nashville TN. I will do air transport as a
last resort if you are a great distance and we can't find any other way to get you your puppy. If
you are that far away, however, you might look closer to home to see if there is a dog in your area
that might meet your needs just as well. I know many people ship dogs by air, and I have done it
myself. I just feel that it is a very scary thing for the dog. If necessary to air ship, the fee will be
$300 for a puppy, a little higher for an older dog, which will include Crate and Health Certificate.
Pet puppies are sold for $500 on a spay-neuter contract.
GUARANTEE: I will have each puppy or dog checked by a vet, microchipped,up to date on shots
and worming with the records of this, and it will be the correct puppy by the correct parents and
in the same condition as I purport it to be both on this website and any correspondence we might
have. I will be happy to send you a current pic with an identifying object in the picture. Tails and
dewclaws are removed at 3 days of
age. I will give you the papers to get them registered with AKC and ASCA. I will give you copies
of parents registration papers and all applicable health certifications. The puppy will be well
socialized . Our puppies live in the house with us until 4 weeks old and are fed with quality
dogfood -we use Nutro brand. Please get your dog checked by a vet when you get it. Puppy must
be vet-checked and cleared healthy within 72 hours of delivery or contract becomes null and void.
When e-mailing us Please include this Information, & anything else you would like to add. We
would like to get to know you a little better & vis~versa. We don't want to just sell you a puppy.
We want to be adding a puppy that is becoming a new family member. And want to continue the
friendship of being there for you if you have questions or concerns after you bring your new puppy
home.
